Bubble Bath at Burger King

People do stupid things. That’s not a surprise. But sometimes their stupidity hurts innocent folks, such is the case with this Burger King employee who decided to take a bath in BK’s kitchen sink, and film the stunt for the whole world to see. The result of that strange behavior was the entire staff getting fired, including the manager who had 20 years on the job, and no involvement or beforehand knowledge of his plans.

The bather, Timothy Tackett (nicknamed “Mr. Unstable”) has already been featured on his town’s local news, popular nationwide TV show Inside Edition, and this morning is scheduled to appear on NBC’s Today Show. He has become an overnight celebrity, promoting his ‘music’ career, while apologizing for the stunt. Meanwhile, the former manager of the Burger King store is sitting home unemployed. That’s just wrong.

  1. That’s hilarious!

I feel bad for the manager but, c’mon, the guy is known as “Mr. Unstable.” He couldn’t have been a model employee. I’m sure he should have been fired for lesser things long ago.

It’s a lesson to managers everywhere: If you let bad behavior slide, it will escalate. Next thing you know you have naked employees running around making you look like an idiot!

  2. I have managed several restaurants and owned fast food (ice cream) stores. IMHO the guy is a jerk. That said, I have no sympathy for the manager who obviously is not paying attention. The fact that someone is videotaping while the manager is reconciling the night’s cash drawer shows that: a) there is no concern for security, b) someone was either not doing an assigned job or was not supposed to be in the building after hours, c) the manager was unaware of what was going on in the back of the house.

I’m sorry, but you can’t fill the pot sink, jump in and screw around and star on You Tube without causing a competent manager to notice something just might be awry. The news said that they sanitized the sink twice after this episode. I think the Health Dept needs to do a full-out inspection from floor to ceiling.

    But that’s just my opinion.

  3. Not condoning this at all, its disgusting, but I’m not in agreement with the firing of the entire staff. Fire this clown, the guy filming it, and anyone involved after a investigation, discipline the management, but this is way too far.

And while this is absolutely nasty, its not like the sink has not been sanitized. Germs are killed in this process, so relax. A dishwashing sink is not a food prep area either..

  4. what an asshole.
