Make Beer at Home, $39-$99 Mr.Beer

For as little as $39 (basic kit) you can make beer at home with this spiffy little brewery from the Mr.Beer company. It comes with everything you need to brew 2-gallon batches of frosty cold beverages, with 3.7% to 4.6% alcohol, depending on variety of mix.
They’re prepared to keep you stocked and happy after the sale with over 28 different beer ‘refill’ options, from standard American Blonde to Czech Pilsner, English Stout and Porter. You can also purchase extra mini-kegs (fermenters) and bottles allowing you to brew multiple batches. Start to finish, it will take approximately 2 weeks for your home-made beer to be ready for consumption. Some recipes require longer.
Visit MrBeer.com for more information on purchasing the kits — $39 to $99.
Two Weeks? Two Weeks? No Way! I want it now! Anyway, who would drink Old Geezer Pale Ale?
Dear Santa,
This is all I want for Christmas!
I’m waiting for them to come out with “Mr. Bourbon”
I went through my “make your own beer” phase.
Doing it without one of these kits, it’s very tough to get it right without lots of practice.
Using a kit like this, the brewing process is almost fool-proof.
But it’s only a slight discount over buying already-made beer at the store: $12.95 for 21.3 Budwiser-like beers or $17.35 for 21.3 Guiness-like beers. Price probably won’t factor into your decision in buying one of these kits.
If you really like their brew, you might want to go this route. If you are an aspiring brewmaster, this is a great way to get a start.
If you’re just trying to save money on beer, get a keg.
Jeff,
just curious… once it’s ‘ready’, how long does it last? Do you have to drink it pretty quickly..as in a day or two? I’m quite a lightweight, so I just like to enjoy one or two beers per sitting.
