Popeyes’ Big Easy Chicken Bowl
Popeyes has introduced a limited time special called the “Big Easy Chicken Bowl” featuring red beans and rice, pulled chicken, Cajun gravy and shredded cheese. Hot sauce and sour cream are available upon request. The bowl’s price is $3.49 and no indication how long it will be around. Popeyes’ other most recent special, the Loaded Chicken Wrap, was excellent, and that item earned a review score of “A” here at FFC. Sadly it’s no longer available. Hopefully it will return soon, either on the regular menu, or making another limited time appearance, assuming their marketing department found it was a sales success.
My Uncle had this last night. It was the smallest thing I have ever seen from Popeyes. There was no indication whether or not it was good, but after literally a minute, he got back up and grabbed his keys. He said that he was going back out to get something else to eat. He came back later with two burgers. This is not a big guy at all.
I’m not a fan of “bowl” type meals, so I wouldn’t have even tried it. I just hope they are trying out sizes for the bowls. Some folks are going to be disappointed if they are actually that small.
I’ll happily stick with the fried chicken.
thanks Bruce for that info.. I KNEW it was going to be that small. I betcha it’s gonna be just as small as those KFC famous bowls. It’s their version of the KFC famous bowl, probably just the same size as well. It sounds great when you see their description and in commercials, until you see the actual product.
I think the bowl idea is great, but make them bigger.
FYI - they still have the Loaded Chicken Wrap here in Atlanta (Alpharetta), as well as the new bowls.
