The Rock ‘N Roll McDonald’s

Imagine - walking inside McDonald’s, seeing a musician’s stage with a guy playing keyboard and singing, a disco ball reflecting lights off the interior, and senior citizens dancing to Rock N’ Roll songs from decades past. That’s exactly what happens every Wednesday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. at the McDonald’s located at 2400 W. Lincoln Highway in Olympia Fields, Illinois. What’s it all about? Just good, clean, FUN.

Owner Randy Conn’s idea has been a success, not only in keeping his customers active, but increasing the store’s profit. Annual income has nearly doubled since he decided to offer live nightly entertainment, from $1.7 million to $3.3 million.

  1. Hmm, I smell a rat. A place near here does something similar, http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-nebmcdonalds.artjul12,0,4411925.story

Bet ya corporate has been encouraging this kind of thing as a way to get positive press for being ‘down with the locals’…

  2. Thanks for the horrible flashbacks to that god awful song by Wesley Willis, “Rock and Roll McDonald’s.” ARGH!!

Nice catch. I hate live/loud music when I eat so it’s not my cup of…sweet tea, but It’s a nifty thing to do.
